Needs And Guidelines for Developing Digital Leadership of Secondary School Administrators In Savannakhet Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic

This research aimed to study, compare, assess needs, and develop guidelines for digital leadership of secondary school administrators in Savannakhet Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. The sample consisted of 348 school administrators and teachers from secondary schools under the Savannakhet Provincial Education and Sports Department in the academic year 2024. Multi-stage random sampling was employed, resulting in 87 school administrators and 261 teachers from 87 schools. Simple random sampling with replacement (lottery method) was used. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaires focused on digital leadership of secondary school administrators. The discrimination power of the current condition questionnaire ranged from 0.549 to 0.907, with a reliability of 0.990. The discrimination power of the desired condition questionnaire ranged from 0.553 to 0.915, with a reliability of 0.969. Statistical analyses included frequency, independent samples t - test,
one - way ANOVA, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified).
The findings revealed that:
1. The current state of digital leadership of secondary school administrators Very high level as for the desirable conditions, they are at the highest level.
2. Current and Desired State of Digital Leadership Among Secondary School Administrators According to the opinions of school administrators and teachers Current State: The digital leadership of secondary school administrators, when classified by position, school type, classified by school type and work experience, shows no significant differences overall. Desired State: When classified by position and work experience, there are no significant differences in the desired digital leadership qualities.
3. Results of the study on the needs of digital leadership of executives’ Secondary schools by considering the priority of essential needs. Descending As follows: Digital vision, digital self - development. Supporting the use of digital technology in management, creating a learning culture. 4. Guidelines for Developing Digital Leadership Among Secondary School Administrators based on the three most essentially needs, the development of digital leadership among secondary school administrators should focus on the following.1) Digital vision: Administrators should establish a clear digital vision and set goals for integrating digital technology within the organization. 2) Self - development in digital technology: Administrators should actively participate in training and seminars related to digital technologies and essential digital platforms for school management. 3) Supporting digital technology in administration: Administrators should embrace change and create an environment conducive to the effective use of digital technology.
