About the Journal
Focus and Scope
ESG Frontier is an interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to advancing research and practice in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability. The journal focuses on emerging frontiers, innovative methodologies, and real-world applications that contribute to sustainable development in both developed and emerging economies.
The journal welcomes high-quality contributions from scholars, practitioners, and policymakers in areas including, but not limited to:
- ESG integration and corporate governance
- Sustainable supply chain management and green operations
- Climate change, environmental sustainability, and circular economy
- Social responsibility, equity, and stakeholder engagement
- Sustainable finance, ESG investment, and disclosure practices
- Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability innovation
- Public policy and regulatory frameworks related to ESG
- Community-based sustainability and regional development
- Ethics, transparency, and accountability in organizations
The journal particularly encourages interdisciplinary research that bridges theory and practice and generates actionable insights for sustainability transitions at local, regional, and global levels.
Peer Review Process
ESG Frontier adopts a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic rigor of all published articles.
Each submitted manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial team for suitability and scope. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to three independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Reviewers evaluate submissions based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus.
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial decision may be one of the following:
- Accept
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Reject
The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
Types of Articles
ESG Frontier accepts the following types of contributions:
- Original Research Articles – Empirical or theoretical studies with significant contributions
- Review Articles – Comprehensive and critical literature reviews
- Case Studies – In-depth analyses of practical ESG or sustainability cases
- Policy and Perspective Papers – Discussions on policy implications or emerging issues
- Short Communications – Brief reports on novel findings or preliminary results
- Book Reviews – Critical evaluations of recent publications (optional)
Language
All submissions must be written in English.
Publication Frequency
ESG Frontier is published biannually (twice a year).
Publisher
The journal is published by BDI.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
At present, ESG Frontier does not charge any Article Processing Fees (APC).
All submissions, reviews, and publications are currently free of charge.
