A Study of Digital Citizenship of Grade 4-9 Students at Anubanbanglamung School Under Chonburi Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of digital citizenship of students in grades 4-9 at Anubanbanglamung school, under Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, 2) compare students' digital citizenship by gender and grade level, and 3) explore approaches to developing students' digital citizenship.

              The population consisted of 750 students from grades 4 to 9. The sample group used in this research consisted of 254 students in grades 4-9 divided into 112 male students and 142 female students at Anubanbanglamung school, in academic year 2024, drawn using stratified random sampling. The research instrument used was a five-point rating scale questionnaire with a reliability of 0.92 which was used to collect data during January-February 2025. Statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test and content analysis. The results of the research revealed as follows:

  1. 1. The level of digital citizenship of students in grades 4-9 at Anubanbanglamung School, Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 was generally at a high level.
  2. 2. The results of the comparison of students' digital citizenship by gender and grade level of Anubanbanglamung school students found no statistically significant differences.
  3. 3. Guidelines for developing students' digital citizenship, approaches and activities including enhancing knowledge and understanding of digital citizenship (comprehension and knowledge), cultivating digital ethics and morality (conduct Digital Ethics), promoting critical thinking and media literacy skills (critical thinking & media literacy), creative and responsible use of technology (cyber safety), and family and community participation (community).
