Art Toy Design Inspired by Hanuman from the Thai Literary Epic Ramakien

Abstract

This research is qualitative research. The objective of this study is to examine the identity and distinctive characteristics of Hanuman from the Thai literary epic Ramakien and apply them to Art Toy design. The research was conducted through data collection and studies from documents, textbooks, and related research, including field studies of Hanuman characters from the mural paintings at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). The study found that Hanuman possesses distinctive visual art elements in terms of color, form, patterns, and costume, which reflect the identity of Thai art and can be further developed into Art Toy design appropriately. From the analysis of these identities, the results led to a design process through the integration of Thai artistic elements with contemporary Art Toy styles, resulting in design works that respond to the interests of the younger generation and creatively reflect the value of Thai culture. In addition, this research extends Thai literature to connect with contemporary society through design forms that correspond with current trends. Furthermore, it can also create artistic value and creative value in the fields of design and collectible products.
