Problems Concerning Athlete Contracting under the Professional Sports Promotion Act B.E. 2556 (2013)

Abstract

              This article aims to study the making of athlete contracts under the Professional Sports Promotion Act B.E. 2556 (2013).

The study found that in the making of athlete contracts, there are issues that should be considered, namely the issue concerning the standard of athlete employment contracts and the issue concerning athlete representatives.

The researcher has the recommendation that there should be a clear determination of the standard of contracts, in order to protect the benefits of athletes more than the benefits of clubs. There should also be strict control over athlete representatives, and regular inspection and training of athlete representatives should be conducted.
