The The influence of foreign languages on contemporary Thai sentence structure

Abstract
This academic article aims to analyze the influence of English on contemporary Thai sentence structure through documentary research and textual analysis. It synthesizes three grammatical changes: 1) the use of passive voice, 2) pre-modification, and 3) literal translation. The study indicates that globalization, digital media, and linguistic prestige are key factors driving this change. This article adopts a "language dynamics" perspective, suggesting that this phenomenon is a mechanism of language adaptation to accommodate new ideas in society, not "language corruption." This change reflects the cultural and socio-psychological power relations of language users. Policy recommendations and future research should therefore focus on understanding the dynamics of language in online media and integrating this new knowledge into the Thai language curriculum.
