The Study of Satisfaction in Using Public Transportation, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract
The purposes of this research are 1) to study the satisfaction level of public transportation users in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province and 2) to compare demographic characteristics that affected to satisfaction in using public transportation in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. Data were collected by using 400 questionnaires of public transportation users in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province with accidental random sampling. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics.
The results of the study found that 1) Most users are satisfied with using public transportation services arranged from highest to lowest as follows: characteristics of drivers, safety, service, and hygiene respectively. 2) The results of the comparison of demographic characteristics found that public transportation users with different ages, occupations, and incomes affect their satisfaction in using public transportation in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province with significantly different at the 0.05 level. Public transport service providers should pay attention to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in providing services in both vehicles, employees, and passenger transport stations in order to create the impressive to service passengers.
