The Development of Cultural Tourism Activities in Chiang Rai Province which Suitable for Elderly Foreigner Tourist

Abstract
The Objectives of this research were 1) to study the behavior and need of cultural tourism for foreign elderly tourists 2) to examine and develop the model of cultural tourism activities for the tourists in Chiang Rai province and 3) to study and develop the potential of the personnel on cultural in Chiang Rai province for the tourists supporting. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and the qualitative data was done by content analysis. The results were as follows:
Most tourists visited Chiang Rai because they wanted to learn and receive the experiences. The package tour for this trip was between 1,001 – 3,000 baht. They needed the local tour guide and needed to spend on the trip for 1-3 days.
The models of cultural tourism activities in Chiang Rai province: 1) activities in handicraft were 1.1) Wiang Kalong Porcelain Group: visiting demonstration of the production, drawing and painting, visiting the ancient stove and good quality clay, 1.2) Traditional toys: ‘Weaving Ngoo Dude’ (Snake sucking) and other traditional toys, 1.3) Wooed carving group: sketching out/carving and composing pieces of wood and 1.4) Chiangsaen Textile Group: spinning thread and textile weaving, and 2) activities in religion were sightseeing of building, drawing, murals, architecture and important points inside such as Ubosot, Buddha image hall, Principal Buddha image, carved wood, and pagoda, etc.
The study of personnel development in cultural tourism, it discovered that the personnel had the problems on English for communication. Therefore, the English training have arranged for them.
