Public Participation in the Development Plan of Rai Mai Subdistrict Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Abstract
This research has three objectives: (1) to evaluate the effectiveness of public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province; (2) to explain the relationship between the effectiveness of public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province and the factors affecting public participation in the development plan; and (3) to forecast and propose guidelines for public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. This research is a quantitative research with 376 samples, consisting of people aged 18 and over living in Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality. A questionnaire was used to analyze the data. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The results of the research were (1) the effectiveness of public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province was at a high level. (2) Factors affecting public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality and the effectiveness of public participation in the development plan of Rai Mai Sub-district Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District Prachuap Khiri Khan Province has a high level of positive relationship and (3) the factor of public participation in making local development plans affects the effectiveness of public participation in making local development plans of Rai Mai Subdistrict Municipality, Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province at a statistically significant level of .01.
