The objectives of this study were to explore the potential of tourism communities in conserving and continuing local knowledge, traditions, and cultures, as well as to develop strategies to promote community-based tourism in Uttaradit Province. This qualitative research involved collecting data through in-depth interviews using semistructured interview forms with key informants. The study included participatory surveys and data collection on tourism within the area.
The findings indicate that Uttaradit Province, known as the "Land of Three Cultures,"
exhibits a rich cultural diversity capable of supporting year-round tourism. The cultural tourism activities in Uttaradit are varied and cater to tourists' interests. The study found readiness and strategies to enhance the capabilities of local people, encouraging their
participation in community development and economic benefits from tourism. This involvement is expected to sustainably elevate the income and quality of life within these communities, based on environmental conservation and the continuation of local traditions and cultures. The study suggests that promoting community-based tourism in
Uttaradit Province should provide opportunities for tourists to experience, learn about, and
understand the nature, art, culture, history, and lifestyle of the local community. Additionally, it should encourage local residents to take an active role in community development and ensure they receive economic benefits, thereby improving the quality of
community-based tourism, tourism revenue, and the quality of life for communities in
Uttaradit Province.
