History and Development of the Journal of Education and Educational Communication
The Lopburi Social Studies Teachers Network, Saraburi Teachers Club, Lopburi Teachers Club, Singburi New Teachers Club, Samburi Regional Teachers Network, Higher Education Voluntary Academic Development Network, and the Social Studies Teachers Alumni Association of Rajabhat Thepsatri University constitute a professional teacher network that has collectively served as a social force in education, proactively advancing educational initiatives from 2017 to the present. Their operational area encompasses the provinces of Lopburi, Saraburi, and Singburi, collectively referred to as the "Samburi Area."
The aforementioned groups' primary mission encompasses the promotion and support of multidimensional teacher professional development, aligned with educational professional standards and 21st-century teacher development guidelines. This includes: (1) organizing local volunteer teacher activities to improve educational quality in remote areas; (2) conducting volunteer teacher activities to bridge innovation into local communities to reduce educational inequality; (3) providing platforms for exchanging knowledge on academic work and educational innovations through Professional Learning Community (PLC) format; (4) conducting practical training to promote the development of academic work for professional advancement according to the Teachers' Council of Thailand criteria; and (5) serving as guest lecturers to transfer knowledge, experience, and best practices related to educational development and academic work production. These initiatives are implemented as academic service to society without charge, as a means of giving back to society and promoting sustainable teacher professional development in accordance with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
Given the context of social and educational changes in the 21st century, which encompass rapid development in technology, learning innovations, and knowledge management, the production and development of academic work necessitates systematic and internationally standardized mechanisms for dissemination and presentation to the academic community. Consequently, the aforementioned network groups collectively resolved in Meeting No. 1/2024 on January 15, 2024, to establish the " The Association of Teachers and Education Personnel in Sam Buri" The objective is to serve as a central organization for coordination, integration, and advancement of regional teacher professional development through non-profit management. A committee of 15 members was assigned to submit an application for association registration to the Chaloem Phra Kiat District Office, Saraburi Province, in accordance with the Associations Act, B.E. 2558 (2015), to ensure unified operations, legal standing, and clear and sustainable direction.
Subsequently, at the Association's Ordinary General Meeting No. 2/2025 on April 20, 2025, the Association's Executive Committee resolved to approve the establishment of an academic journal under the title "Journal of Education and Educational Communication" to serve as a medium for disseminating research findings, academic articles, educational innovations, and knowledge beneficial to the continuous professional development of teachers and educational personnel. The journal aims to obtain quality certification from the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) within three years.
At the subsequent meeting of the Association's Executive Committee No. 2/2025 on September 15, 2025, the meeting resolved to invite distinguished experts in relevant academic fields to serve as Invited Editors, responsible for overseeing academic standards, managing the article review process according to the Double-Blind Peer Review system, and monitoring and evaluating the journal's operations to align with national academic standards and the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) criteria, as well as ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) guidelines, to elevate the journal to international standards in the future.
