FACTORS AFFECTING SAVING BEHAVIOR OF NAKHON SI THAMMARAT RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

This article aims to 1) Study the saving behavior of students at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University and 2) Compare personal factors with basic economic factors that affect students' saving behavior. This research is a quantitative research. The sample group is 387 students at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University by using simple random sampling. The research instruments are online questionnaires. The research data analysis uses descriptive statistics: percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics: One way ANOVA. The research results show that 1) Most students are female, 20-21 years old, in their fourth year, The occupation of the parents is a farmer. Most of the parents are together. In terms of income, most of them have a monthly income of 3,001-5,000 baht. In terms of expenses, most of them have monthly expenses of 3,001-5,000 baht. In terms of savings, most of them have an average savings of less than 3,000 baht, followed by the average current savings of 3,001-5,000 baht. The person who influences students' savings is the students themselves. The overall savings behavior of students is at a moderate level. The purpose of saving is to save money to spend when the family has problems, followed by saving money to spend when sick, and saving money for one's own education. 2) The comparison of personal factors on the savings behavior of students found that the variables of gender, age, and grade level did not affect the savings behavior of students. Economic factors, including the variables of savings frequency and average income, affected the savings behavior of students.
