SAVINGS AND BORROWING BEHAVIOR OF MEMBERS OF SAVINGS COOPERATIVES NAKHON SI THAMMARAT RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY COMPANY LIMITED

Abstract

This research aims to (1) study the saving and borrowing behavior of the cooperative members (2) study the relationship between the work characteristics of personnel and the saving and borrowing behavior of the cooperative members. The quantitative research method was used to collect data from questionnaires with 260 members of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University Savings Cooperative Limited by simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics from frequency, percentage and inferential statistics from Chi-square. The results of the study found that all members of the cooperative were ordinary members, accounting for 100 percent. The age of the majority of members was in the range of 31-40 years, accounting for 38.10 percent. The majority of members were married, accounting for 75.40 percent. The majority of members were university employees, accounting for 74 people, accounting for 28.50 percent, followed by civil servants, accounting for 54 people, accounting for 20.80 percent. For the saving behavior of the members, they saved quite a bit in the form of deposits. The annual savings amount is less than 12,000 baht per year. However, members accumulate shares of more than 38.50 percent, with most having monthly share values ​​of 1,001 - 2,000 baht per month. It was found that the work characteristics of personnel are related to members' deposits in the form of stock accumulation, special savings deposits, and retirement savings deposits with statistical significance at 0.05. In terms of borrowing, the work characteristics of personnel are related to members' borrowing in the general loan category, general loan for quality of life development, and housing loan category with statistical significance at 0.05.
