Political Participation and Elections of Students in the Government University at Songkhla Province

The purposes of this study were to 1) investigate the political and electoral participation of university students in Songkhla Province and 2) compare the political and electoral participation of university students in Songkhla Province classified by demographic characteristics. The samples consisted of 397 students from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla Rajabhat University, Thaksin University, and Prince of Songkhla University. The tool used in the research was questionnaires. Data analysis was processed statistically using percentage, Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results found that overall, the political and electoral participation of university students in Songkhla Province was at a high level. The result of comparing personal factors with participation in enhancing democratic activities found that students of different genders, year levels, faculties, and universities had no significant difference in their political and electoral participation at a significance level of 0.05.
