Abstract

This research aims to study basic information and problems affecting potential development, including guidelines for developing potential of fishermen in Pru Nai Subdistrict Municipality, Koh Yao District, Phang Nga Province. Using the principles of good governance as indicators and suggesting ways to develop the potential of fishermen. This research is qualitative research. The main informants were 10 fishermen. The tools used are In-depth interview. To be able to study in depth and to reflect on problems on various issues that the researcher wants to study. The interview questions are 3 issues, issues at1 Basic information, issues at2 Problems affecting potential development , and  issues at3 Capacity Development Guidelines. Data analysis uses the results of interviews to analyze data by compiling interviews.

The research results found that Basic information about villagers in Pru Nai Subdistrict Municipality: Most of them have been fishing for 20-60 years. which Pru Nai Subdistrict It is a community located amidst shady nature and it is a landscape with the sea and islands all around. The villagers in Pru Nai Subdistrict are mainly engaged in fishing. It is a community next to the sea. Types of fishing of villagers in Pru Nai Subdistrict Municipality are It is a sustainable fishery for both local fishing and commercial fishing. Problems affecting potential development were found to be Exit problem The law prohibits fishing near the coast since 2015 and the addilional edits to be made. assigned to the coastal sea It has a distance of three nautical miles from the coastline. Guidelines for potential development The results of the study found that Fishermen want to expand their fishing area. In issuing the Fisheries Act, specific areas should be considered or allow local authority to decentralize to the local authority.
