Abstract

A population of elderly in the world, China leads the pack, with 166.37 million people, followed by India with 84.9 million, and the United States in third place with 52.76 million. By 2024, Singapore, one of the world's 10 member countries in the ASEAN group, is projected to have a population of elderly individuals accounting for 17.3% of the total population. Out of the total population of 6.3 million, the elderly population stands at around 1.08 million. Thailand boasts data representing over 20% or over 13.2 million individuals of the overall population. In contrast, Vietnam has 21 million elderly individuals, making up 20.0% of its entire population. Vietnam has seen a rise from its previous 11.9%, and it is projected that by the year 2040, all three countries will transition into a super-aged society. Public policies that aim to address and improve social issues and conditions within a society. It is imperative to establish social welfare programs for individuals residing in ASEAN countries. The Malaysian government has prioritized implementing a policy to ensure that Malaysians have access to high-quality residential properties. The Malaysian government encourages private sector participation in the construction of affordable yet high-quality housing for the elderly.
