Abstract
Dispute settlement is a method of dispute settlement in which one party negotiates with the other party to make a decision when a problem arises and the settlement of this dispute depends on the decision of the other party. The coexistence of international society when a member of a state violates an agreement or commitment, which causes conflict. If states cannot resolve disputes that arise among themselves, international organizations have a duty to facilitate negotiations and mediation of disputes so that both parties agree and reach an agreement. However, if an international member has influence in decision-making over other countries, which causes inequality leading to a violation of the peace of other countries.
From the study, it was found that the right of veto, which is a privilege of permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, it was found that the exercise of these rights by those countries is aimed at using this right for the benefit of their own country or their allies rather than aiming to use it to maintain international peace also stability among countries and to have the influence over the decisions of the impermanent. For this reason, the United Nations Charter should be amended regarding the use of the right of Veto by considering the amendment of Article 27 of the United Nations Charter to cancel the right of Veto to prevent permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. From using this prerogative in any way other than for the maintenance of common international peace and stability, In cases where it is not possible to amend the Charter of the United Nations so as to abolish the Veto. Article 27 provides for additional rules on the exercise of the Veto by providing that, for the Veto to be fully effective by a permanent Member, it must be affirmatively voted by the other Members.
