This research aimed to 1) compare the levels of students’ local wisdom pride in the experimental group before and after engaging in communicative language teaching integrated with local wisdom content and 2) compare the post-instruction levels of local wisdom pride between the experimental group and the control group, which received conventional instruction. This study employed an advanced mixed-methods research design consisting of two phases: a quantitative phase using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design and a qualitative phase using an explanatory sequential design. The sample comprised 68 students selected through multi-stage sampling. Research instruments included communicative language teaching lesson plans integrated with local wisdom content, conventional lesson plans, a local wisdom pride measurement scale, and a focus group discussion record. Quantitative data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, and t-tests, while qualitative data were analyzed through conclusion-drawing techniques. The quantitative findings revealed that students in the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher levels of local wisdom pride after instruction and higher levels than those in the control group at the .01 level of significance. The qualitative findings further indicated that students developed greater awareness of the value of local wisdom, increased pride in their community, confidence in expressing local identity, and a stronger intention to preserve and promote local wisdom through English communication.
