Guidelines for Enhancing Public Participation in Subdistrict Development Plan of Fai Kaew Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province.

Abstract

The research aimed to 1) study public participation in sub district development plan of Fai Kaew Sub district Administrative Organization, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province., and 2) develop guidelines for enhancing sub district development plan of Fai Kaew Sub district Administrative Organization, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province. It was quantitative research with questionnaires from 387 people in Fai Kaew sub district with stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed by percentages mean and standard deviation. Results were; 1) public participation in sub district development plan of Fai Kaew Sub district Administrative Organization, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province was moderate ( mean = 3.45). Considering each aspect, it was found that people were most involved in receiving benefits, followed by decision-making. and the least were monitoring and evaluation. ( Mean = 4.07, 3.38, and 3.00, respectively) and 2) guidelines for enhancing public participation in the preparation of sub district development plans of Fai Kaew Sub district Administrative Organization, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province was publicizing organization performance through social media to create awareness. Public also could access to organization information which would lead to the public participation in the sub district development plan as planned. It was a truly represents transparency in organization management according to the principles of good governance.
