Modern Public Administration Science Journal (MPAS) is a specialized academic journal focusing on public administration and public policy, published by the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. The journal aims to disseminate high-quality research and academic articles to support civil service development, public sector reform, and innovation in public affairs management.

The journal accepts manuscripts in both Thai and English, rigorously evaluated by three peer reviewers per article through a double-blind peer review system to maintain academic standards and impartiality. Modern Public Administration Science Journal is a specialized academic journal that aims to disseminate knowledge and quality research in public administration, civil service management, public policy, and governance. The journal supports the development of the civil service system and good governance, promotes policy research and applied research that can be used in public sector reform and national development, and serves as a forum for academics, researchers, civil servants, local politicians, and those involved in public affairs management.

The journal emphasizes research and academic articles that focus on problem-solving and developing Thailand's public administration system in the current era, particularly the application of innovation, digital technology, and modern management concepts to enhance public service efficiency, strengthen governance, and support citizen participation in public affairs.

Modern Public Administration Science Journal has the following main objectives:

Modern Public Administration Science Journal considers research articles, academic articles, and review articles directly related to the public sector, government agencies, and public affairs management only, covering the following main disciplines:

Types of Articles Accepted

  1. Research Articles - Articles presenting original research with rigorous and quality research processes, including quantitative research, qualitative research, and mixed methods research, especially policy research that can be practically utilized
  2. Academic Articles - Articles presenting new concepts, theories, or frameworks in public administration with in-depth analysis and synthesis from relevant documents and research

Scope Not Considered by the Journal

To maintain its focus as a specialized journal in public administration, Modern Public Administration Science Journal does not consider the following types of articles:

  • Articles solely about private business management, commercial marketing, or business organization management not related to the public sector or public policy
  • Articles on human resource management, finance, or marketing focusing solely on private business organizations (except when clearly applicable to the public sector)
  • Articles purely on information technology without a public administration or public service dimension
  • Articles purely on law (except those related to public policy or public administration)
  • Articles about private educational institution management (except state education policy or state educational institution management)

Note: In cases where articles contain content about state enterprises or public organizations, the journal will only consider them from the perspective of public policy, governance, or relationship with the state.

Assigns 2 reviewers per article as less for comprehensiveness and fairness

Internal author articles are evaluated by external experts outside the journal's organization

External author articles are evaluated by experts with specific expertise from multiple institutions without conflicts of interest with the authors

Editorial Board makes the final decision on publication
