Strategic roles of local administrative organizations in driving sustainable communities under the philosophy of sufficiency economy

Abstract

This scholarly article analyzes and proposes a strategic model for Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs) to drive sustainable community development, fundamentally rooted in the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP). The analysis indicates that the function of Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs) must transition from simple service delivery to that of a "strategic leader and resilience management unit," methodically incorporating the SEP's three rings and two conditions into their strategic management cycle. To achieve successful sustainable development, it's important to pay equal attention to economic, social, and environmental aspects, using key strategies like reasonable planning, enhancing self-reliance through knowledge and technology, and encouraging community involvement based on good values. The effectiveness of this drive must be measured using sufficiency indicators that reflect community stability and resilience. So, this article suggests the "LAO Strategic Sufficiency Model" as a new way of thinking and a practical guide for LAOs to help their communities become truly self-sufficient and grow sustainably.
